A Culture Blossoms is about a cannabis craze in Chiang Mai, Thailand; published in the South China Morning Post. Black, White and Blue is a story about three amazing temples in Chiang Rai, by the late Keith Mundy. Images by Ron Emmons. Strange Town is about Antananarivo, Madagascar's crazy capital, and was published by the South China Morning Post. Blissful Bloom is a story about the symbolism of the sacred lotus (nelumbo nucifera) for the Chinese. It appeared in Morning Calm (Korean Air inflight).
An Element of Wonder is a photo essay on the subject of water which appeared in Silver Kris Magazine (Singapore Airlines inflight magazine). A Hike up Chiang Dao Mountain, about a trek to the top of one of Thailand's most dramatic peaks, was a cover story in International Travel Plan. Quirky Chiang Mai was written for Silkwinds (inflight magazine of SilkAir), and as you might guess is about unusual places and experiences in Chiang Mai. Trailblazer is a story about Daniel McGilvary, a zealous missionary who lived in Chiang Mai for over 50 years. It appeared in Fah Thai, the inflight magazine of Bangkok Airways.
On the Road to Rio was Ron's first-ever published article, about photographic techniques used on a road trip from Caracas in Venezuela to Rio in Brazil. It appeared in Break, a student photography magazine published by Kodak.
